The How's and Why's
When someone decides to start a class for the first time or to start training it can be very intimidating. It’s important that people feel comfortable and safe when they decide to start their fitness journey with me. My goal is to help lift people up. I want them to know that I understand what they’re going through and have lived all of the same emotions they’re dealing with. And I want them to know their strength – that they can achieve what they aim for.

Sustainability

In order for us to be successful with our health and wellness goals, not only do we have to incorporate healthy lifestyle changes, we also have to pay attention to the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, and also the things that elicit poor choices. It’s really about being mindful of where we are at any given moment as a daily practice so it becomes second nature to us.

Customized Training

The initial consultation (in person, phone or Skype) is about discovery. Each person has their own desires unique to them. This is an opportunity to discover what someone really wants: achieving a weight loss goal, overcoming an injury, or making better health choices. Step two (2) is a fitness assessment: I look at posture, perform movement analysis observation, as well as flexibility testing. The final step is taking all of the important information we have gathered and designing a personalized program specifically for the individual.

Qualifications

I attended John Abbott College and studied Social Sciences which truly helped me form the foundation of what I do: learning and understanding individual and group needs, while at the same time enhancing my interpersonal skills. I completed my personal trainer specialist certification with Canadian Fitness Professionals, as well as the YMCA Individual Conditioning certification.

Results

Over the past 16 years I’ve worked with hundreds of people who have collectively lost hundreds of pounds. Achieving their goals is important to them and me; whether losing weight, toning and strengthening, and/or overcoming injury. My clients tell me that they feel better and more confident and comfortable with who they are.

I am eager to introduce others to my life-changing program, The Happiness Approach and teaching the practical tools that will guide them to lose the weight they’ve only ever dreamed of.
